Located in Vigo’s Casco Vello Alto, the project involves the comprehensive refurbishment of a traditional terraced building to transform it into two homes. The intervention seeks to preserve the historic character of the property while updating its structural and habitability conditions.

The granite walls and original façade are retained, while the floor slabs and roof are completely renewed using a lightweight steel and timber structure. This strategy makes it possible to consolidate the building and improve its thermal and functional performance.

The interior reorganisation introduces an enlarged garden courtyard that allows natural light to penetrate deep into the building, while a sequence of skylights accompanies the vertical route of the staircase.

The main residence culminates in an open attic space leading onto a terrace overlooking the Vigo estuary.
